Sina's story

Hi, my name is Sina.

I was in Australia for six months as a student at Kingscliff High in NSW. When I had to choose my school, I choose Kingy because it was near the beach, and I had a pool nearby. I also liked the subjects they had. I was able to choose different subjects, what I really liked, because there were a bunch of subjects to decide on.

Then, when I arrived, I knew it was the right one to choose. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Straight away I got two students to show me around. All teachers have understanding for you and your problems. I felt safe all the time. Also, the students there are the most respectful persons I know. It didn`t take me long to get involved and made friends.

I lived in Pottsville, a little town in NSW and it took me 20 minutes to get to my school by bus.

My host family was the most loving and kind family I could have wished for. We travelled together, enjoyed the holidays and laughed a lot. I wish I could go back right now. I felt so loved at this place. Even when I was homesick, they gave me a hug, tried to distract me and made me feel safe, good and loved. It was amazing!

To every future student: Don`t be scared. If you really wanna go, do it! Australians are friendly, happy and respectful. And don`t be scared your English won´t be good enough, it will! You learn pretty fast, when you have to speak it. I promise you, it will be the best time in your life!
