Linh's story

I came to Australia in 2018 as an international student who was excited to learn and grow. I started my journey in Beverly Hills Intensive English Centre (IEC), where I met one of the most inspiring international ambassadors who motivated me to grow out of my comfort zone.

Thanks to all the wonderful teachers in IEC, I quickly finished my studies there and moved to Beverly Hills Girls High School.

My time at Beverly Hills Girls High School granted me so many unforgettable memories that I truly appreciate. One of the most memorable events was the Multicultural Day, a day to appreciate the cultural diversity in Australia. I used to be a really shy girl who would never wear any traditional clothes in public, however, this experience changed me completely. I became excited to celebrate the beauty of my culture along with many other cultures around the world.

The most impactful decision I have ever made in my high school time was joining as many clubs as possible and being a Prefect of Finance/ Environment. I met a lot of wonderful friends, role models and mentors who guided me to be who I am today.

I am truly grateful to have been influenced by all of them. If I can give any advice for other international students, I would encourage you to nominate yourself for the Student Representative Council (SRC) and other club positions because such experiences will let you learn and grow as an excellent individual for yourself and others.

After completing the HSC, I am now studying a Bachelor of Art and Bachelor of Education at Macquarie University. Since I was young, I've always had enormous love for children and sharing knowledge. Being a teacher fulfils my goals to help others at a time of important development and to inspire them to be the best version of themselves.
