Program details

Student groups

Age: 10 to 18 years. Most suitable for junior and senior high school students.

Group size: 5 to 30 participants per group. Large groups may be hosted in multiple sessions. An English speaking supervising adult is required per 15 students.

Duration: Mini sessions (45 minutes) or extended half day sessions (1.5 hours with a break).

Activities: Our Virtual Study Tours are flexible and can be tailor-made from the following options:

  • integration with local students in live classes (e.g. language and cultural sharing, discussions and interactive activities)
  • virtual live school tours
  • Environmental Education Centre programs (e.g. First Contacts at Kamay Botany Bay)
  • closed-class English or specialised lessons conducted by a qualified teacher (e.g. debating skills, discussion skills, leadership, sustainability) to support other sessions
  • participation certificates upon request
  • optional virtual excursion add-ons.

Adult groups

Age: Minimum 18 years. Suitable for educators, university students, school leaders and government officials. Please arrange an interpreter where required.

Group size: 5 to 30 participants per group. Large groups may be hosted in multiple sessions.

Duration: Mini sessions (1 hour) or extended half day sessions (2 hours with a break).

Activities: Our Virtual Study Tours are flexible and can be tailor-made from the following options:

  • meet & greet with school leaders and staff
  • lesson observation
  • virtual live school tours
  • Environmental Education Centre programs
  • pre-recorded presentations (up to 1 hour) on set topics (e.g. general overview of the NSW education system)
  • options for joint delivery with tertiary providers.
  • live virtual presentations (up to 2 hours including Q&A) with senior staff from the NSW Department of Education. Topics upon request, including:
    • online education, including distance education
    • multicultural education
    • STEM
    • early childhood education
    • disability education
    • VET (vocational education and training) in schools
    • English language support and language teaching in schools
    • curriculum development
    • IT and education innovation
    • health and safety in schools
    • educational leadership.

Fees

Registered tour operators should contact DE International for a price list and quote.

Discounts are offered for multiple sessions or booking with a future in-person study tour.

Applications

The DE International Study Tours team coordinates study tour groups for NSW government schools. Bookings must be made through a tour operator that is registered with DE International.

Note: Tour operators or overseas schools must not contact schools directly to book or discuss virtual study tours programs.

Please allow a minimum of 6 weeks' notice, excluding school holidays.
